Cavity
Wall Insulation
The cavity is filled with an insulating blanket
of mineral wool or expanded polystryrene bead to
dramatically reduce the heat loss through the wall. |

A
tried and tested method
Cavity wall insulation has been around for
forty years and its performance has been tried
and tested over that period. A Government
commissioned survey several years ago confirmed
its effectiveness and the high level of customer
satisfaction. You can be sure that Cavity
Wall Insulation will continue to reduce your
heating bills and give you maintenance-free
service year after year. |

For
your peace of mind
BBA is an independent organisation dedicated
to testing building materials and processes
and approving them as suitable for purpose.
All our materials are BBA approved and each
of our Installers has been examined and
issued with a BBA Installers card. As members
of the Cavity Insulation Guarantee Agency
(CIGA) we can offer an independent 25 year
industry-backed guarantee to protect you
from any problems, however unlikely they
are to occur.

Survey
Before any work takes place a survey is
carried out by one of our trained Surveyors.
This service is free and entirely without
obligation (click here to request
a survey).
At the survey, technical issues will be
considered to ensure that your home is suitable
for cavity wall insulation, and the process
will be explained to you in full. Should
you be liable to pay for a part of the cost,
you will be told how much that will be.
(No-one ever pays the whole amount! We can
obtain a grant from an energy supplier to
cover some or all of the cost of the work.
Check out grants
available).
Installation
The installation process is completed in
less than half a day. Here is what you can
expect to happen.
Drilling
Holes are drilled in the wall to a special
pattern designed to ensure that all parts
of the wall get an even and complete fill.
The holes are 25mm in diameter and are normally
driven through the mortar joints.
Filling
The mineral wool or polystyrene bead is
blown pneumatically along a hose from the
machine mounted in the van. When the area
around the hole is full, the flow stops
and the Installer turns off the nozzle.
As each hole is finished in turn, a complete
fill of the whole wall is ensured.
Finishing
Holes are filled with a matching mortar.
Because the holes are small and drilled
through the mortar joints, they are quite
difficult to see on completion and the appearance
of the wall is not impaired. With rendered
properties, a matching paint or other finish
is applied to blend in with the wall. |

your energy supplier to cover part of the cost.
In some cases, those on lower incomes could be
entitled to free insulation. |
