Why
are grants being offered?
Grants
exist to help the Government to achieve
two important policy objectives:
The
elimination of 'fuel poverty' by helping
those on low incomes to save money on their
heating bills and to enjoy a warmer, more
comfortable home.
The
reduction of carbon dioxide emissions, the
cause of climate change, by encouraging
everyone, especially those able to pay,
to save energy by insulating their homes.
The so-called 'Energy Efficency Commitment'
programme requires energy suppliers to encourage
householders to insulate their homes and
grants are available to help them to achieve
specific targets.
Low income households
Households on qualifying benefits such as:
Pension Credit
Disability allowances
Attendance
allowance
Child tax credit
Income Based Job Seekers Allowance
Income support
Council tax benefit
You may be entitled to have the work carried
out with a 100% grant. There are many different
schemes in operation today, some funded
by Government and some by energy suppliers
such as SWALEC and British Gas. The rules
can be complicated. Contact us to find out
whether or not you qualify. You may be able
to have this work done for free!!

Homeowners not on benefits
Every energy supplier has a scheme which
provides grants for home insulation available
to everyone, irrespective of status. They are
all different. Some are best for cavity wall
insulation, another may be better for loft.
It can depend on the type of property you own
and the fuel you use for heating. To make matters
worse, the picture is constantly changing as
schemes come and go or are re-launched. But
it is certainly worth the effort of applying
for a grant - it can amount to a significant
part of the total cost of the work.
Seem complicated? Well, yes, it is - but leave
it to Excelsior to find the best deals. We have
access to many schemes, one of which will be
ideal. Contact
us
to find out what's on offer for you.
Payment of grant
To make life as simple as possible for you,
we fill out all the paperwork and claim the
grant on your behalf. You only pay your own
contribution, if there is any to pay. And make
no mistake about it. These are genuine grants
and not some dreamt-up marketing person's half-price
sale! British Gas, SWALEC and other energy suppliers
pay hard cash into our account each week. So
grab yours now whilst grants are still available!
