Loft insulation can stop your heat from
going through the roof.

Twenty years ago it was considered sufficient if the thickness was 100mm. Nowadays, with increasing awareness of energy efficiency and its environmental benefit, 250 or even 270mm is considered to be the norm - that's a whopping 11 inch blanket of insulation between and over the joists which seals the whole loft and all but eliminates heat loss altogether!

If you have 100mm or less in the loft you should 'top-up' with an extra layer to bring
your loft up to present day standards.

Quality assured
We install mineral wool insulation quilt which is manufactured under a British Standards Institute 'Kitemark' quality scheme. All our installers are trained to BS5803:1985, Part 5.

Survey
Before any work takes place a survey is carried out by one of our trained Surveyors. This service is free and entirely without obligation (
click here to request a survey). At the survey, the thickness of existing insulation will be measured and various checks will be carried out - for example, the size and position of any cold water storage tanks, pipework requiring insulating.

Should you be liable to pay for a part of the cost, you will be told how much that will be. (No-one ever pays the whole amount! We can obtain a grant from an energy supplier to cover some or all of the cost of the work. Check out
grants available).

Installation
The installation process is completed in less than two hours. Here is what you can expect to happen:

The loft is topped-up by applying new insulation material over the joists to an overall depth of at least 250mm.
Cold water storage tanks are insulated to up-to-date standards.
All exposed pipework is insulated with foam pipe insulation to protect against freezing.
A walkway to tanks can be provided where required as can boarded storage areas.
The loft hatch is draught-stripped to prevent the ingress of warm moist air into the loft.

Check out the grants available! You could be eligible for a grant from your energy supplier towards the cost. In some cases, those on lower incomes could be entitled to free insulation
